Warwickshire Police Online News System Launches
Netsight has finished development of a new site for Warwickshire Police Force. The system has been designed to serve as an efficient portal for the rapid and accurate dissemination of information to both the public and, crucially, to the media services.
The force knows that in many cases being able to get key information about a crime or incident out quickly and accurately can make a huge difference in the investigation of a case.
The site (http://onlinenews.warwickshire.police.uk) is powered by the Plone content management system, and is fully managed by the Corporate Communications department of the force, integrating with their other systems. In the short time since its launch, the News Desk and Press Office have seen significant efficiency improvements, with the bulk of routine enquiries being handled directly through the online system. The force is moving to a position where all released information is provided solely through electronic channels.
Netsight have delivered a variety of innovative websites and web applications for Warwickshire Police Force, starting with the Force's own public site in August 2003.
